We See the World the Way We Are, NOT Always the Way That It IsLast month I included this quote in my newsletter. It’s one of my favorites. So, this month I wrote an article in my blog, that I wanted to share. I shortened it a bit due to space constraints.Let's face it, we live our lives based on our own perceptions and experiences. And, that is OUR reality! But, for some, is that TRULY the reality of what is going on in the world today? Not necessarily. But, maybe that's EXACTLY the way some people like it! On the other hand, there are others that want to know exactly what's going on. That’s me. Give me the good with the bad. It may make me lose sleep at night, give me ulcers and gray hair, but I want to know. I don't always like what I see and hear, but “it is what it is.” I must face it and deal with it. We can sugar coat life's ups and downs anyway we want, but that doesn't change the reality of the situation. I'm also a believer in saying it like it is (nicely). And, let me tell you, this is not always the popular approach. Why beat around the bush? Especially in my job as a REALTOR, I can’t afford NOT to tell clients my opinion, when they ask for it. Sometimes people want to know and often people don't! (Could this be part of the reason the real estate market is in disarray today? Too much candy coating?) You know, just because you don't say something, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. And, just because you don't choose to see something that appears right in front of you, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. And, just because you choose not to hear some type of bad news, it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. Your sense of reality determines how you perceive things going on around you in the world. People's perceptions are different and always will be. And, I suppose, that's what makes the world go 'round!
